The Toronto Community Foundation is a hub of knowledge about the issues facing our city and the solutions that are making a positive impact.
We share our unique understanding of the power of philanthropy in Toronto with our stakeholders and our community in the following ways:
Toronto's Vital Signs®
The Community Foundation knows Toronto well. Since 2001, we have identified the city's current and emerging needs in our Toronto's Vital Signs® Report.
The annual Report is compiled from current statistics and special studies which look at eleven different, yet interconnected, issue areas that are critical to the well-being of our city and its residents.
The goals of the Report include inspiring civic engagement, providing focus for public debate, and guiding donors and stakeholders who want to direct their resources to areas of greatest need.

Community Knowledge Centre
Just as Toronto’s Vital Signs® is a snapshot of the issues, the Community Knowledge Centre is a snapshot of some of the solutions.
To fulfill our core mission to connect philanthropy with community needs and opportunities, we created the Community Knowledge Centre that connects the issues facing our community, as reported in Toronto’s Vital Signs®, with the solutions not-for-profit organizations are providing.
This web-based portal is a place where our family of Fundholders and the general public can come to be inspired to imagine and support transformational change in our city – enabling better understanding, wise giving, and more engaged philanthropy.
