Deferred gifts such as bequests, life insurance proceeds or retirement plan proceeds are convenient for many donors who wish to reduce taxes in their final returns and leave their communities with a meaningful contribution. We can work with you and/or your professional advisor to help you make an informed choice that works best for you.
Life Insurance
By making us the beneficiary - and not the owner - of your life insurance policy, you can provide a future gift while retaining control of your policy.
Bequest
A bequest is a future gift made in your Will. You can designate a gift, a portion, or your entire estate to the Toronto Community Foundation and in some cases receive a substantial reduction in federal gift and estate taxes. There is flexibility to alter the gift throughout your lifetime.
RRSPs and RRIFs
You can make us the beneficiary of your Registered Retirement Savings Plans (RRSPs) or Registered Retirement Income Funds (RRIFs). The tax credit will help offset the tax that would otherwise be payable on your final return.
