Recipe for Community: St James Town

Recipe for Community adds new partners to the pot
ING Direct and the Dutch Consulate are supporting the St James Town neighbourhood's cycling initiatives

May 24, 2011

Toronto Community Foundation and City of Toronto Office of Partnerships are thrilled to welcome new Recipe for Community: St. James Town partners, ING Direct and the Consulate-General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands (Dutch Consulate).

Recipe for Community brings together partners from the public, private, and not-for-profit sectors to invest in Toronto’s dense and, often, underserved apartment neighbourhoods. Through resident-inspired projects and programming, residents are engaged to grow and strengthen their individual and collective capacity of their community.

On May 29, ING Direct and the Dutch Consulate kick things off by challenging city residents to come out in their numbers for the Toronto Bike Ride 2011. All proceeds from the event will be donated to purchase bikes, helmets and locks for St. James Town children and youth.

This investment for ING Direct and the Dutch Consulate will help to further the goals of Recipe for Community: St. James Town - releasing new energy, new resources, and new ideas.
