Meet the new Chair of our Board of Directors, John MacIntyre
New Chair brings excellent leadership and commitment to our community.

This is an exciting time of transition at the Toronto Community Foundation, as we welcome our new Board Chair, John MacIntyre. John is no stranger to the Community Foundation. He has been our Vice Chair up to this point and Chair of our Investment Committee.

John brings exceptional leadership and commitment to Toronto and will help write the next chapters of the Toronto Community Foundation story. We know he will continue to build on our strength and the partnerships we’ve built.

John MacIntyre

John MacIntyre is a partner with Birch Hill Equity Partners, one of Canada’s leading private equity firms. He also sits on the boards of a number of companies, including RHB Group LP, and Nealanders International. He is on the advisory boards of Brookfield Special Situations Fund and Northleaf Capital Partners. He is also a director of the Toronto Community Foundation (Vice Chair) and Wellspring Cancer Support Foundation.

From 1995 to 2000, he led TD’s Global Private Equity business as President of TD Capital. From 2002 to 2004, Mr. MacIntyre served as a Senior Advisor to TD Capital. From 1987 to 1994 and from 2000 to 2002, Mr. MacIntyre was with TD Securities, most recently as Vice Chair and Global Head, Investment Banking. Prior to joining TD Securities in 1987, Mr. MacIntyre was with Ernst & Young LLP.

Mr. MacIntyre is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, a Chartered Business Valuator and holds a B.Comm (Honours) from Queen’s University.
