A cycle of positive change
Yvonne Bambrick, Executive Director, Toronto Cyclists Union (Bike Union)

Yvonne Bambrick is a community activist who has helped organize a wide variety of successful groups and events. Presently, her chief role is the Executive Director and spokesperson at the Bike Union – a bicycle riders advocacy network which works to promote cyclist issues and awareness.

As an assistant coordinator at the Bike Union, one of four executive positions, Yvonne was integral in nurturing the growth of the organization into a powerful advocacy body. Her secondary role as a spokesperson has made her the go-to person for the media on cyclist issues. She provides a passionate and informed voice for the rights safety and safety of cyclists, and the benefits of a strong cycling community. In the past she has worked as the volunteer coordinator for Kensington Market’s Pedestrian Sundays, as a Community Animator at the Centre for Social Innovation, as an advisor for the Centre for City Ecology, and on Adam Vaughan’s municipal campaign.

Yvonne is dedicated to contributing positive social change through the work she does.

With the Vital People grant, she will further her potential by attending an intensive leadership course at the Hollyhock Leadership Institute in British Columbia, as well as attending workshops and conferences on organizational management, fundraising, membership management, and cycling culture.
