Roberta Wong is the Director of Client Care and Community Services at St. Paul's L'Amoreaux Centre. St. Paul's is a caring, client-focused not-for-profit organization, dedicated to improving the quality of life of seniors in the communities they serve.
Beginning as a Case Manager, and working directly with clients over the last 12 years, Roberta has advanced to Director of Client Care where she has successfully established a professional case management program for 5,000 seniors.
Roberta’s work has enabled thousands of seniors to improve their health and wellbeing, remain safe in the community, and access affordable housing. Her unique programming design allows for the integration of seniors from various cultural and economic backgrounds. In her time at the Centre, Roberta has led the growth of available services for seniors, established a best practice model, led the service teams through accreditation in 2007 and 2010, designed and secured funding for numerous innovative health promotion and wellness projects and implemented comprehensive client safety procedures for all services. She also spearheaded the creation of the S.A.L.T. (Seniors and Law Enforcement Together) Committee that advocates for senior-led community safety initiatives in partnership with the Toronto Police 42 Division.
Roberta will use her Vital People grant to further her education and develop her leadership and strategic planning capabilities to address the future needs of the community. She will also be taking courses in business leadership and project management to facilitate this goal.
Roberta’s Vital People grant has been generously supported by the Griggs Family Foundation and the Vital Toronto Fund at the Toronto Community Foundation.
