Tamara is CivicAction’s Project Director for the Emerging Leaders Network (ELN) and DiverseCity: The Greater Toronto Leadership Project, two key projects focused on developing and deploying emerging and diverse civic leaders, helping them to launch collaborative projects, and expanding their networks.

She leads a small but high-performing team in designing and implementing programs that have directly involved more than 500 people from all sectors, helping them to improve the quality of life in their communities.

In her four years at CivicAction, Tamara has proven herself a highly capable and talented leader able to link ideas, people and organizations to build CivicAction's and individuals' social capital. She was central to the launch of Greening Greater Toronto, which is improving the Toronto region’s sustainability. She helped to build and manage a 45-member Task Force and numerous large working committees, all of them composed of volunteer leaders from all sectors. She also worked to develop the project’s external partnerships and communications channels.

Tamara will use her Vital People grant to explore the value, impact and development of multi-sectoral collaborative leadership, from local and international perspectives.

Tamara's Vital People grant is funded through the Vital Toronto Fund at the Toronto Community Foundation.
